Nature reigns here!

separate studio

The studio has bedroom and artist's work area plus a lovely bathroom with shower. The ceiling is high with original exposed beams, excellent lighting, woodstove,
terracotta tile floor, french doors.

first view of house

The first view one has of the house is after parking the car and walking down a small path (about 20 yards) with lilacs, lavender, roses and fig trees on each side. The vegetable garden with raised beds, roses and flowers is to the right. The door opens into the upstairs living room. This is a quiet, romantic, secret place.

French country home

My first home in France is now for sale. It has been a dearly loved property. We discovered it in 1990 while driving through the surrounding countryside. The pastoral landscape unchanged for centuries took my breath away, and this charming cozy house hidden amidst lush vegetation captured my heart. Since 2001 it has been the much enjoyed and meticulously cared for vacation home of iconic American landscape painter Gregory Kondos. Many of his famous iris paintings were inspired by the gardens here.
He and his wife Moni have now reluctantly decided to sell it because Gregory at 87 years old finds the travel from California too difficult.
